Life in the Barn

|ONE| YEAR! I need to stop and think about that time! It’s only a snippet in the grand scheme of things but man we will truly treasure it.  When we upgraded our ranchette and moved to our six acres we knew that we had work ahead of us including living above the barn in the apartment for a short time while we transformed our 1930’s craftsmen.  The months quickly passed and if you have any experience in construction/remodeling you know that nothing EVER goes according to plan.   The 1 bedroom and 1 bath, bunks in the dining room, was a lifesaver and gave us a place to live and enjoy our property while the house was getting fixed up. The kids loved to tell people that we lived above the horses.

This small space did more than we expected.  It made us closer, gave us the chance to reflect on what really matters, gave us something to look forward to.  We still homeschooled, entertained, and loved even though our space looked different.  Now that we have lived in our HOME for two weeks I kind of miss the apartment.

Ranchettes can have their challenges when we are looking to move. They don’t usually have EVERYTHING we need, but you have EVERYTHING you need.. Vision!

Love, Nat
